Scribbles of Wisdom

"A mind that is stretched to a new idea never returns to its original dimension."

~ Oliver Wendell Homes

"You wouldn't be a writer if reading hadn't enriched your soul more than other pursuits."

~ Anne Lamott

"To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee. One clover and a bee, and reverie. The reverie alone will do, if bees are few."

~ Emily Dickinson

"It's only with the heart that we see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eyes."

~ Antoine De Saint-Exupery

(PS: What is very interesting about this quote is that the words have been used in a song called "Weekend" by Scooter (Dance). The words have been scrambled slightly in the song and goes as follow "What is essential? It's invisible to the eye! It's only with the heart that you can see rightly." Not the kind of song you would expect to see these insightful words. When you listen to the song, you'll understand.)

My favourite? The Oliver Wendell Homes one. It's so bloody true!

Guess what? I a week's time I'll be sipping Maluti beer and tasting good braai in Bloem and in Maseru. I can boast. I only ever get to go home every ten years or so.

Many cheers.

Hi Rethabile...

Firstly congrats on the Bloggers Reflections Award!!!!

I just love words and phrases that overflows with truth. Short, but poignant.

Oh, I'm so jealous. Maluti beer, nogal...I miss beer, or should I rather say, I miss proper beer!

I hope you have a roaring time... Home, there is no place like home.

You know which one my favorite is don't you!

Einstien said that perfect solutions are "beautiful." And I think that's because anytime we experience "TRUTH" we're struck with it's undeniable beauty.

Your quote (above) posesses that beauty and that's because it is truth itself.

I could've guessed. D, you have so much truth in your heart. That is what makes your heart beautiful. Hold on to that. Never let go of the beauty that is within you.

Thanks darlin! I'm trying. And by the way, I don't know that anyone can ever lose their beautiful heart. We all have one. Unfortunately for many though, their hearts become overgrown with anger, hate, regret, etc.

I have your e-mail and will write back to you shortly!!

Take care
